Comedies up for TV Quick award
BAD EDUCATION, Benidorm, Birds Of A Feather and Derek are the best TV comedies of the year, according to the TV Choice awards. They are the nominees for the comedy accolade, the winner of which will be announced on September 8, at a London ceremony hosted by David Mitchell.
JACK CAMPBELL was crowned English Comedian Of The Year in a final at the Udderbelly on London's South Bank last night. he wins £1,500 and a trip to the Adelaide Fringe in February. Runner-up was Scott Bennett, with Tony Cowards third. Review.

ROBIN ASKWITH, star of the smutty Confessions comedy films, is to appear at London's Camden Fringe. The actor is doing two 'audience with' shows on August 1 and 2 at Upstairs at the Gatehouse promising 'hilarious insights into the world of 70’s showbusiness, with names such as Leonard Rossiter, Jimi Hendrix and Princess Margaret set to be dropped'.
A PLAN to introduce free wi-fi across Edinburgh in time for the Fringe has collapsed after Spanish firm Gowex, which had a ten-year contract to run the network, went bust.
