Memoirs event hits 300 screens

Stephen Fry's next cinema project has been revealed... a book launch.

An event to mark the launch of the next volume of his memoirs will be live-streamed to more than 200 cinemas around the UK – and another 100 around the world.

It is being promoted as 'probably the biggest book launch to date'.

His memoirs, More Fool Me, will be published by Penguin on September 25. It covers the late 1980s and early 1990s when Fry 'driven to create, perform and entertain, burned bright and partied hard and damn the consequences...'

And on October 1, the launch event from London's SouthBank centre will be broadcast by Picturehouse Entertainment via satellite.

Other readings will also be performed (but not broadcast) on September 24 in Manchester, September 25 in Bristol, September 28 in Sheffield and September 29 in Edinburgh.

Producer David Johnson said: 'This is a rare opportunity to see the multi-award-winning comedian, actor, presenter, writer and raconteur on stage live: when he’s forced to tour he’s a tour de force!'

More Fool Me is a follow-up to The Fry Chronicles, which was the bestselling autobiography of 2010, selling more than a million copies worldwide.
