Tim Minchin Storms the book world

Beat poem to become a graphic novel

Tim Minchin's beat poem Storm is to be made into a graphic novel.

The nine-minute beat poem, which has already been made into a short film, describes the comic's efforts explaining his rational outlook to a hippy at a dinner party.

Minchin said: 'I’m so glad this poem has been made into a book: now I can literally hit people over the head with my opinions.'

The book will feature artwork from illustrator DC Turner – who animated the piece for a hit YouTube film, which has more than 3million views – and producer Tracy King.

It will be released by publisher Orion as a paperback, e-book, and signed and numbered hardback on October 16.

Alan Samson from the publisher said: 'Tracy and Dan’s artwork and design values are a perfect complement to Tim’s sparkling text, and we expect his book to go down a storm this autumn.'
