Katt Williams 'pulled a gun on a heckler'
Police swooped on the Comedy Store in Hollywood last night after Katt Williams allegedly pulled a gun on a heckler.
Reports say the troubled comic was not on stage at the time, but was harassed by a punter who started making wisecracks about his 'height and race'.
According to Los Angeles celebrity website TMZ, an eyewitness says 'he went crazy, threatening the heckler with a gun'
Comic Craig Gass tweeted last night: 'Cops have actually shut down traffic on Sunset looking for Katt Williams at The Comedy Store. #ShortPeopleProblems.'
And writer Stephane Mickus posted: 'Police are not permitting anyone to leave the Comedy Store as of right now. So LA might be a little better place tomorrow.'
Six cars filled with armed officers raced to the club, but by the time they arrived Williams had already left. No arrest warrant has been issued for the comic, TMZ says.
Williams, 40, is no stranger to run-ins with the police. In 2012 he was involved in a police chase after being spotted driving his three-wheeled motorcycle ‘erratically‘ on the pavements of of Sacramento, just days after being arrested on suspicion of battery after allegedly breaking a bottle over a man's head.
In 2006, he was arrested at Los Angeles IAirport after a stolen gun was found in his briefcase. His rap sheet over the past four years also includes allegedly endanging his own children, assaulting a tractor driver, and theft of $3,500 worth of coins and jewellery.
However, one punter who was in the club last night dubbed the gun story 'fake' tweeting: 'We were there! The Original Room was so drama free.'
