Tig Notaro to tour UK
TIG NOTARO is coming to the UK to perform a short four-date tour, her first British solo dates outside the Edinburgh Fringe. The US comic will perform her show Boyish Girl Interrupted at the Shepherds Bush Empire, Birmingham Town Hall, Salford Lowry and Glasgow City Halls for four consecutive days from September 1. In 2012, her recording Live, in which she announced on stage that she had breast cancer, sold 100,000 copies. Tickets for the UK dates go on sale tomorrow.
STAND-UP Bethany Black has landed a role in Russell T Davies's new E4 series Banana. She will play Helen, a transgender woman being harassed by her ex. She told Chortle: 'It's the opportunity of a lifetime; I think I'm the first trans woman to play a trans woman on British TV.' Banana is a series of eight stand-alone stories about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender characters and is a companion to Davies' new Channel 4 drama Cucumber.
