Line-ups confirmed as Alternative Comedy Experience returns

Comedy Central has confirmed the line-up for the second series of its offbeat stand-up show The Alternative Comedy Experience.

Acts making their first appearance on the show will be: Kevin Eldon (including the guise of Paul Hamilton), Susan Calman, John Hegley, Fern Brady, Kevin McAleer, Helen Arney, Nish Kumar, Grainne McGuire, Michael Legge, Hattie Hayridge, Trevor Lock, Liam Mullone, Helen Keen, and Ginger & Black.

And the returning roster is David O’Doherty, Paul Sinha, Isy Suttie, Simon Munnery, David Kay, Tony Law, Josie Long, Henning Wehn, Bridget Christie, Stephen Carlin, Andy Zaltzman, Maeve Higgins, Paul Foot, and Robin Ince.

The show will return for a run of 13 episodes, beginning in mid-July, although the broadcaster has not yet confirmed an exact date.

Stewart Lee has again curated the line-ups, and his interviews with the comedians backstage at The Stand in Edinburgh, where the show is filmed, are interspersed with the stand-up.

Lee said: 'I am delighted that Comedy Central have had the vision to bring back the connoisseurs' stand-up comedy show of choice.'

The shows were taped last July, and had originally been expected to air in February.
