Music festival dedicates a day to comedy

Tim Minchin is to headline a gig in London's Hyde Park this summer.

The Australian comic – along will a full band – will be playing to up to 4,000 people as the British Summer Time festival turns over its main stage to comedy on July 10.

Minchin will be supported by a stand-up bill that includes Milton Jones, Nina Conti, Alan Davies, Gina Yashere and Jasper Carrott as compere.

Musical headliners who will be playing the park over the two weeks of the Barclaycard-sponsored festival include Black Sabbath on July 4, The Libertines on July 5, Neil Young on July 12 and Sir Tom Jones on July 13.

'Pre-sale' tickets for the Minchin gig will be available from 9am tomorrow, priced £29, with the event going on general released on Friday.
