June Whitfield has joined the cast of Max & Ivan’s Radio 4 pilot. The pair are recording The Casebook Of Max & Ivan in London next Sunday, in which they play two private detectives investigating the world of junior beauty pageants. See our Free tickets page to be in the audience.
JACK DEE is to play Latitude. The comic will be presenting a version of his new Help Desk format at the Suffolk festival over the weekend of July 17 to 19. Other additions to the line-up also announced today are Mark Watson, Vikki Stone, Ed Gamble, Matt Rees, Sean McLoughlin, The Pin, Massive Dad, The Monster Comedy Shed and Fancy Chance.
JOAN COLLINS will reprise her role as hotel boss Crystal Hennessy-Vass in the next series of Benidorm. Her character appeared in the last episode of series six in February, and ITV has now confirmed she will be back for the next run, currently being filmed in Spain for broadcast early next year. As previously revealed, Johnny Vegas will be reprising his role of The Oracle, too.
JIM DAVIDSON is writing a book about his experiences under investigation over historic sexual abuse claims by Operation Yewtree. No Further Action, named after the phrasing used in the eventual decision not to prosecute him, will be released on August 7, just as his live show of the same name plays at the Edinburgh Fringe.
FREDDY QUINNE has won the £100 prize for the best Chortle Correspondence piece in May, for his article kicking off the debate about 'Northern club comedian' being used as a dismissive phrase.
