Fubar Radio loses another comic...
Vikki Stone has followed Richard Herring in quitting the subscription-only Fubar Radio.
Stone's resignation emerged after Chortle reported earlier this afternoon that Herring was standing down because of the demands of other work as he recorded his last show for the station.
Herring was one of Fubar's more recognisable names at its launch three months ago, when it had the aim of promoting ‘uncensored’ talk and comedy. However, recent signings have proved controversial, including Justin Lee Collins, right-wing ‘shock jock’ Jon Gaunt and The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs joining the £3-a-month station.
Herring said: ‘I quit because I had too much other work on to continue, given I have a new play and stand up show to write.’ But he said he would miss the ‘nice chemistry’ he had with co-host Lou Sanders.
Meanwhile, Stone's agent confirmed: 'Vikki has decided not to renew her contract with Fubar.' She will record her last show for the station next week.
Previously, Sean Hughes left Fubar after his contracted three months, saying: ‘It just wasn't right for me.’
The channel still boasts Peacock & Gamble, Mark Dolan, Joel Dommett and Angelos Epithemiou among its comedy names, as well as Amy Childs’ co-host Joey Page.
Meanwhile, Herring is working on two shows for the Edinburgh Fringe, the stand-up show Lord Of The Dance Settee, and the play I Killed Rasputin.
