NBC orders six episodes of One Big Happy

Kelly Brook’s American sitcom has been picked up for a series.

Hollywood websites are saying that NBC has committed to a short, six-episode order of One Big Happy.

Produced by Ellen DeGeneres the show revolves around best friends Lizzy, who is gay and played by Elisha Cuthbert, and Luke, who is straight and played by Nick Zano.

They decide to have a baby together, but then Luke meets Brook’s British character Prudence – who has been described as a ‘sexy Mary Poppins’ – and, after a whirlwind romance, marries her.

Brook’s agent Alex Segal has previously said: ‘This could be a career-changing role for Kelly.’

The six episodes are set to run midseason, to fill a gap in the schedules because of a cancellation or another show put on hiatus.
