Greg McHugh stars in his first panto
Fresh Meat’s Greg McHugh is to star in his first ever pantomime.
The comic will play Captain Hook’s right-hand man Smee in Peter Pan at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow this Christmas.
Gavin Mitchell – who plays Bobby the barman in Still Game – will take the part of Hook in the show, which comes 50 years after the first panto was staged in the theatre.
McHugh, also known for creating Gary Tank Commander, said: ‘I’m extremely excited to be appearing in panto for the very first time and to be part of the King's golden anniversary celebrations makes it even more special.
‘Having studied in Glasgow, I’m looking forward to the challenge of performing in the city’s best Christmas production.’
James Haworth, general manager at the King’s Theatre Glasgow, said McHugh will be ‘a fantastic addition’ to the cast.
Peter Pan opens at the King’s Theatre on December 6.
Meanwhile, Julian Clary has been announced as the star of Cinderella, the panto being stared at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre this Christmas; and Jimmy Cricket will be starring as Muddles in Snow White and the Magnificent Seven at Preston’s Charter Theatre.
