Rev 'won't be back soon'
REV won’t be returning to TV any time soon, its star Tom Hollander has said. The actor told Radio 5 Live’s Richard Bacon: ‘At the moment, we all want to just pause. It’s such a special thing, Rev. It's been so magical in terms of how much people take it to their hearts. The idea of not doing it anymore is sad but also quite attractive, because you wouldn't want for it to ever get worse.’ The last episode in the third series airs on BBC Two on Monday.
DAVID ELMS was crowned winner of this year’s Musical Comedy Awards at the final in London last night. He has previously been a Chortle student finalist and was named Edinburgh University Comedian of the Year 2011. Runner-up was Cribb and Morgan, with Laurence Owen third.
TIM MINCHIN’s Matilda musical has extended its booking period at the West End’s Cambridge Theatre until May 2015. The show, written by Dennis Kelly with music and lyrics by Minchin, premiered in 2010 in Stratford-Upon-Avon, transferring to London in October 2011.
JOHN ROBINS has released an audio version of his 2013 Edinburgh stand-up show, and subsequent tour, Where Is My Mind? on Bandcamp. Recorded at The Comedy Box in Bristol, it’s available here, on a ‘pay what you want’ basis.
JO BRAND, Russell Kane and Rich Hall’s Hoedown are to headline the comedy tent at the Hop Farm music festival in Kent from July 4. Other comics appearing include Milton Jones, Josh Widdicombe, Seann Walsh and Andrew Maxwell, while music headliners have a decidedly retro feel, with Ray Davies, Brian Wilson and Grace Jones on the main stage.
