Peter Serafinowicz joins Miranda Hart movie
Peter Serafinowicz has joined the cast of Miranda Hart’s first Hollywood movie, Spy.
Director Paul Feig – who also made Bridesmaids – also announced that Bollywood star Nargis Fakhri and Swedish comedian Bjorn Gustafsson would be in the movie.
He told industry website Deadline that Serafinowicz was a ‘comic genius,’ saying: ‘There are so many actors worldwide that I’ve been dying to work with and Nargis, Peter and Bjorn have always been at the top of my list.’
Serfinowicz is currently in Budapest shooting the film, although details of his role has not yet been revealed.
Spy stars Melissa McCarthy alongside Jason Statham, Rose Byrne, Jude Law, Bobby Cannavale, 50 Cent and transgendered Ukrainian pop star Verka Serduchka, who will recreate her 2007 Eurovision entry for the movie. It is due out in the States on Memorial Day – May 25 – 2015.
Previously, Hart said of the film: ‘It will be nothing less than a hoot to work with Melissa McCarthy. By the end of the film I plan to have married Jude Law and have Melissa as our adopted daughter.’
And earlier this week she tweeted: ‘First day on set today for film shoot. Excited. So that's me.’
Meanwhile, Mark Strong has joined the cast of Sacha Baron Cohen’s forthcoming comedy movie. He will play a black-ops spy and brother of Baron Cohen’s character, a football hooligan
Baron Cohen wrote the script with Wreck-It Ralph screenwriter Phil Johnston and long-term collaborator Peter Baynham.
