Frankie Boyle in sitcom read-through

Comedy set on a wildlife documentary shoot

Frankie Boyle is leading a cast of comics in a new sitcom in development.

He will be one of the actors at a read-through of the show Wildlife, about a crew filming a nature documentary in Sweden.

Miles Jupp, Isy Suttie, Craig Campbell and Adam Hess will play the other members of the team in the dummy run.

Wildlife has been written by Andrew Collins and Simon Day, who previously co-created the 2003 sitcom Grass, about Day's Fast Show character Billy Bleach moving to the countryside.

Producers describe the premise of Wildlife with the blurb: 'As if capturing footage of the rare Eurasian wolf in the forests of Bergslagen, Sweden, isn't difficult enough, they also have to film a "making-of" featurette and refrain from killing each other.'

The read-through takes place in front of an audience on April 25 at the Tabard Theatre in West London. See our free tickets page for details.

Boyle has also just co-written the pilot of a 'depraved farce' called Blocked for Radio 4 with fellow stand-up and long-time collaborator Steven Dick – which had a read-through at The Stand in Glasgow last week. And he will appear in one of the BBC's new iPlayer comedy shorts, Frankie Boyle And Bob Mortimer's Cookery Show.
