Key and Kearns up for Aussie award
Tim Key and John Kearns have been nominated for the biggest prize for live comedy in Australia.
The pair have made the shortlist for the Barry Award for the best show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival: Key for his new show Single White Slut, Kearns for the show which won home best newcomer at last year's Edinburgh Fringe, Sight Gags For Perverts.
Also nominated is The Boy With Tape On His Face for More Tape, which he first performed in Edinburgh in 2012, along with fellow Kiwi - and fellow mime act Trygve Wakenshaw for his show Kraken.
American stand-up Kyle Kinane and Australia's Denise Scott and Celia Pacquola complete the international line-up.
Kraken was also shortlisted for the Golden Gibbo award, named in honour of the late Lynda Gibson, for independent productions that put artistry first. Also nominated was Rama Nicholas, Stella Young, Fancy Boys Variety SHow, Pajama party and Andy Matthews.
The winners are announced next Saturday afternoon, UK time.
