R4 pilots Sara Pascoe Vs The Truth
RADIO 4 is to pilot a new comedy based on Sara Pascoe's Edinburgh show Sara Pascoe Vs The Truth. The comedian – who has appeared on Twenty Twelve, Live at the Apollo and Stand Up For The Week – will be joined by Danielle Ward, David Reed and Rachel Parris for the recording in London next month. See our Free Tickets page for details of how to be in the studio audience.
MICHAEL McINTYRE's BBC One chat show is to start on March 10. Guests in the first episode will be Sir Terry Wogan, Lily Allen and Lord Sugar.
DAVID DIMBLEBY has claimed Dara O Briain had 'picked the wrong target' when he suggested the BBC should address the gender imbalance on Question Time before ahead of panel shows like Mock The Week. The political presenter said: that of 104 panellists in the BBC One show's present run, 46 had been women – a much higher percentage than the Commons or FTSE board members. 'Mr O Briain, the mote is in our eye, the beam is in yours,' he said.
ALAN PARTRIDGE: Alpha Papa and The World's End have been nominated for both best comedy and best British film in the annual Empire Awards. Also shortlisted in the comedy category are Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, This Is 40 and This Is The End. Votes can be cast here.
DAVE's Leicester Comedy Festival has announced its award nominations, too. Up for best show are Ahir Shah, Andrew O’Neill, Captain Morgan & The Sands of Time and John Gordillo. And for best new show: Ian Hall, Jen Brister, Jonny & The Baptists, Marcel Lucont, Paul F Taylor and Richard Peel
