Confirmed: Mrs Brown's Boys cartoon
Mrs Brown's Boys is set to be made into a cartoon, due for release next year, one of its stars has confirmed
The full cast will record their lines for the show in front a live audience once the movie spin-off is released in cinemas in June.
Actor Rory Cowan – who plays Mrs Brown's son Rory – said the new animations would recycle ideas from the TV sitcom.
He told the Irish Daily Star: ‘It will be a mix of storylines we've seen on the main shows, as well as a few other things thrown in to make them different.’
Cowan added that the venture could prove lucrative as an export. ‘The logic is that it can be sent to all English-speaking countries, and dubbed so it can be used across the world,’ he said.
In 2012, Mrs Brown creator Brendan O’Carroll said: ‘When you see the titles of Mrs Brown's Boys, that's from the animated series which we're bringing out. The wonderful thing about doing a cartoon is that they translate it into any language.’
And he told the Irish Independent that he had got the BBC to use the animation to raise the profile of the eventual project.
Last year, Texas-based Powerhouse Animation Studios created a 22-minute pilot of an animated Mrs Browns Boys, which was screened in Manchester.
