STEVE COOGAN won a Bafta last night for best adapted screenplay, shared with his Philomena co-writer Jeff Pope.

AN EXHIBITION of more than 50 portraits of stand-ups, taken by photographer Andy Hollingworth over the last nine years, has opened in his home town of Chester. The show, Reverse Angle, is on at the Grosvenor Museum until May 11.

THE Simpsons is to make a full-length episode in Lego in May. The latest tie-in follows the launch of Simpsons-based Lego sets last month.

THE creator of What The Frock!, which runs comedy nights with all-female line-ups, is up for three business awards in her home town of Bristol. Jane Duffus is in the final three for Entrepreneur of the Year, New Business and Customer Service in the NatWest Venus Awards for the city.

IRISH comedians including Barry Murphy, Roisin Conaty, Aisling Bea and Jarlath Regan are to take part London Mayor Boris Johnson's St Patrick's Day celebrations. The comics will be staging a free show in the London Irish Comedy Festival Tent in Trafalgar Square from 2pm on March 16.
