THE full line-up of comedians performing on Everest on October has been released. Rhys Darby, Terry Alderton and Glenn Wool are joining previously announced acts Stewart Francis, Simon Evans and Craig Campbell at the gig at base camp, 5,365m above sea level and three times higher than Ben Nevis, on October 4. The audience of 50 comedy fans will have to make a nine-day trek – and pledge to raise a minimum of £1,000 for Save the Children’s projects around the world, including Nepal. Details

MEANWHILE, on a different mountain, Al Murray has been named as the last headliner for the Altitude Comedy Festival, held in Mayrhofen, Austria, from March 31 to April 4. Fred MacAulay, Rainer Hersch and Pappy's have also been added to the bill, which also includes John Bishop and Tommy Tiernan.

STAND-UP Imran Yusuf has been announced as the first patron of GamesAid, a British gaming-based charity which helps disadvantaged youngsters. Yusuf was a games designer for companies including Midway, Eidos and SEGA Europe before embarking on a career in comedy.

AMERICAN website Rooftop, which records comedians' club sets for online use is coming to the UK. It will make audio recording of shows, splitting any income 50:50 with the acts.

FRENCH comedian Dieudonne M’bala M’bala, who popularised the 'quenelle' gesture largely seen as anti-semitic, has been cleared of charges of incitement over a video in which he called for the release of gangster Youssouf Fofana – who is serving life for the 2006 torture and murder of Jewish man Ilan Halimi. Dieudonne, who has been banned from the UK, has seven other convictions for incitement.
