Alex Zane to host new TV stand-up show
Alex Zane is to host a stand-up show for the new TV channel London Live.
The comic and Rude Tube presenter is to introduce three acts in each of eight shows being recorded for the digital station.
Episodes will be recorded at the Century Club, a private members’ club in Shaftesbury Avenue. The venue is already hosts the Scoundrels Comedy Club, whose promoters are also behind the new series.
Line-ups for the first two episodes, which will be taped on Tuesday, are Tom Deacon, Harriet Kemsley and Alistair Barrie, followed but Kerry Godliman, Dan Schreiber and Rhys James.
Owned by the Evening Standard, London Live launches on March 31 and already boasts a number of comedy shows including repeats of Spaced, Twenty Twelve and Peep Show.
It has also commissioned a number of shows based on YouTube hits: the culture-clash sitcom All About The McKenzies; The T-Boy Show , starring Tolulope Ogunmefun, also known by his online name Don’t Jealous Me; and Brothers With No Game about four Londoners seeking relationships.
