STEVE COOGAN met Pope Francis in Rome today. He was there with Philomena Lee, whose story of a search for her son after she was sent to a convent for being an 'fallen women' inspired his Oscar-nominated film Philomena.Ms Lee said: 'I have always put great faith in the church and the good will to put the wrongs of the past right.'

AMERICAN cable channel TBS is to launch a comedy talent hunt, to be hosted by Marlon Wayans with other members of his family. IRISH stand-up Bernard O'Shea is to be the new breakfast show host on RTÉ 2fm, the state broadcaster has announced.

THE only known novella by Charlie Chaplin has been published, 66 years after it was written. Footlights, the basis for his 1952 film Limelight, has been pieced together by Chaplin's biographer, David Robinson from drafts found at the Chaplin archive at Bologna in Italy.
