Brigstocke hurt in The Jump

Watch his fall

Marcus Brigstocke has torn a ligament in his leg during a bad fall on Channel 4’s winter sports reality show The Jump.

The comic ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament after taking a tumble going over at the final jump in the ski-cross event before last night’s final..

He tweeted: ‘Not ideal, but it was worth every second. Can I come home now?’

The injury meant Brigstocke had to pull out of the final, which was won by singer Joe McElderry.

Brigstocke is a keen snowboarder, and co-founded the Alpine comedy festival Altitude, but before The Jump had spent just one day skiing in the past 12 years – for a segment on Ski Sunday.

He said before he fell: ‘There’s not a lot of footage of me falling because I really don’t like falling’.

The final attracted 1.74 million viewers to Channel 4, the second lowest audience of the series.

Here is Brigstocke’s fall.
