C4 orders more Raised By Wolves
Caitlin Moran’s semi-autobiographical comedy Raised by Wolves has been commissioned for a full series.
Six new episodes have been ordered following a pilot that aired just before Christmas.
The show, which the journalist co-wrote with her sister Caroline, is based on their childhoods being home-schooled in 1980s Wolverhampton, but updated to the present day.
Channel 4’s head of comedy Phil Clarke told the Radio Times he expected the scripts to be written by the end of the year, and the series to air in 2015.
He said: ‘We think this is a tale worth telling and we hope it resonates with people. There is a sense of her character being quite precious but also isolated as well.’
Meanwhile, the broadcaster has given a full series to another 4Funnies pilot, Scrotal Recall.
The show follows 20-something Dylan Witter, played by Cardinal Burns star Dustin Demri-Burns, who must contact everyone he's ever slept with to tell them he has Chlamydia.
Clarke admitted ‘it’s probably not laugh out loud but it is witty and acerbic’.
Other 4Funnies pilots awaiting news of commission include David Baddiel’s family comedy Sit.com; Flack, which stars Sheridan Smith as a PR woman; and the rom-com Catastrophe, written by and starring Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney.
