Promoter announces new Edinburgh Fringe venues

Edinburgh Fringe comedy promoters Just the Tonic are adding two more venues to their roster this year.

The company, which also runs comedy clubs in Nottingham and Leicester, will be taking over The Dram House – formerly known as The GRV and last year run as part of the PBH Free Fringe – and a new site called The Community Project, basedwhere Grassmarket meets Cowgate.

The Community Project, a combination of an old kirk and new buildings, has a 50-seat venue and a 150-seater.

Just The Tonic boss Darrell Martin said: 'These are exciting new additions to our already successful venues at The Caves and The Tron.'

Meanwhile, the new Freestival movement have announced their first four venues, too.

They are: The Cowshed, the live music and spoken word venue opposite the Underbelly in Cowgate; The Tron Kirk in the centre of the Royal Mile (another former PBH venue): Indian restaurant Suruchi, opposite the Festival Theatre in Nicholson Street; and Moriaty bar in Lothian Road,
