Omigod! South Park misses a show
South Park failed to air in America last night – after creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone missed the deadline.
The animated show is produced to a tight schedule, written animated and recorded in the six days before it airs, allowing it to be topical
But a power cut hit their studios for three hours on Tuesday, meaning the team could not complete the job in time.
Parker said: ‘It sucks to miss an air date but after all these years of tempting fate by delivering the show last minute, I guess it was bound to happen.’
It is the first time in 13 years and 240 episodes that they have missed a slot.
Broadcaster Comedy Central released a statement yesterday saying: ‘From animation to rendering to editing and sound, all of their computers were down for hours and they were unable1 to finish episode 1704, Goth Kids 3: Dawn Of The Posers in time.’
A rerun of the series five episode Scott Tenorman Must Die aired last night instead, with the missing show rescheduled for next week.
