CHRIS O’DOWD’s Sky One sitcom Moone Boy has been nominated for an international Emmy. It is up for best comedy against South Africa’s Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola, France’s Workingirls and Brazil’s How to Enjoy the End of the World. Winners are announced on November 25.

JIMMY CARR has announced a new tour, Funny Business, to start in April. The tour will eventually comprise more than 200 dates and already tickets have gone on sale for shows in September 2015, almost two years ago. JOAN RIVERS has settled her dispute with The Writers Guild of America, who accused her of breaking a strike by writing her own material for E!’s Fashion Police. She said: ‘I’ve decided not to render any writing services even though as a comedian... I often write material for myself. Rest assured though I will always say what’s on my mind.’ Union president Michael Winship added: ‘We are very pleased that we have been able to resolve the charges against Ms. Rivers and will not be proceeding to a disciplinary hearing.’ The show has been hit by strike action over pay.

RICKY GERVAIS has been named the most influential celebrity on Twitter when it comes to JustGiving charity pages, the fundraising website has said.

PIFF THE MAGIC DRAGON creator John van der Put has been named as one of the 30 ‘most innovative, interesting and influential people’ in theatre and performance. He has made the shortlist of the h.Club 100 list, backed by the Guardian, which also includes Rory Kinnear, who recently starred in Count Arthur Strong, and Tania Harrison who curates the arts and comedy stages at Festival Republic events, including Latitude.
