...about an ex-con and his sister

Cilla Black and Paul O'Grady are set to play half-siblings in a BBC One sitcom.

Led Astray has been written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the creators of The New Statesman and Birds Of A Feather – which is being revived by ITV next year.

Cilla will play Tanya, who discovers her long-lost half-brother Arthur (O'Grady) is in prison. He then forges documents to get released with an electronic tag, and she gives him a place to stay.

A pilot is being recorded later this month – directed by long-term comedy director Ed Bye –  for a possible BBC One slot.

O’Grady is set to return to the chat-show fold next month, as ITV revives The Paul O'Grady Show, four years after it last aired.
