Christmas is coming
Jarred Christmas is to take over from Adam Hills as host of BBC One Northern Ireland panel show Monumental.
Another seven-part series of the show, which focusses on the people and places of the region, has been ordered, and will be recorded from next month.
Hills, host of Channel 4‘s The Last Leg, is too busy to return to the show, but the rest of the panel – Jimeoin, Michael Smiley, Andrew Maxwell and Micky Bartlett – are all due back.
Meanwhile, Smiley is also to star in his own BBC Northern Ireland travelogue programme
Something to Ride Home About will cover the stand-up and actor as he goes on a cycling road trip, and span thee half-hour episodes.
Both shows are being made by Green Inc Film & Television
Managing director, Stephen Stewart said: ‘Monumental was such a fresh new series and it’s great for us all that BBCNI wants more. The gathering of acclaimed talent was impressive so we’re looking forward to getting back into the studio to do it again.
‘Michael Smiley is undoubtedly one of Northern Ireland’s most exciting exports, and as an ex-cycle courier and stand-up comic, before moving successfully into acting, makes his mix of talents and passions a very exciting proposition’
