Lucky Bastards...
The Idiot Bastard Band – Adrian Edmondson, Phill Jupitus, Neil Innes and Rowland Rivron – are set to make a Radio 4 comedy show.
The quartet are recording a pilot of In Transit next month, based around their exploits on the road.
In the fictional version, they are a band that ‘struggles from small, under-attended gig to small, frequently cancelled gig’ and are forever stuck on tour.
The BBC blurb for the show, which will be recorded in front of a studio audience, describes the tour bus as ‘more like a Tardis... with bedrooms upstairs, a lab at the back and, naturally, a wine cellar’.
Celebrity MasterChef winner Edmondson has recently spoken of how he had grown tired of comedy, and prefers touring with this band The Bad Shepherds The Idiot Bastard Band also had a successful UK tour last winter.
