Nostalgia weekend for C4

The 8 Out Of 10 Cats team are to take on Countdown yet again – but this tie with an Eighties feel.

Jimmy Carr will host the special as part of a Channel 4 weekend dedicated to the decade that the station was launched.

It will also include the already-announced revival of daytime quiz show Fifteen To One, with a celebrity special to be to be hosted by Adam Hills; an Eighties-themed Alan Carr: Chatty Man; and A Big Fat Quiz Of The Eighties.

Lee Mack will be a guest captain alongside Jon Richardson in the latest Countdown takeover, taking the place of Sean Lock. Henning Wehn and David O’Doherty will also be playing; while Vic Reeves will join Susie Dent in Dictionary Corner and Joe Wilkinson tries to distract Rachel Riley.

The Eighties weekend, which also includes a retrospective of The Tube, runs from September 20, and culminates with the Big Fat Quiz on Sunday, again hosted by Carr.

Playing the quiz will be David Mitchell, Phill Jupitus, Alan Carr, Sarah Greene, Jack Dee and Jason Donovan.
