Cast revealed for Gold's first sitcom
GOLD has announced the cast of its first scripted sitcom, You, Me and Them. Former Buffy star Anthony Head and Eve Myles, who played Gwen Cooper in Torchwood, will play a couple in love, despite their 20-year age gap. The cast also includes Victoria Wood favourite Susie Blake and Jeff Rawle – the beleaguered George from Drop The Dead Donkey – as the parents of Cooper’s character, and Lindsay Duncan as the next-door neighbour. The six-part series will air later this year.
THE finalists have been named for the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny? new act competition, to be held at the Edinburgh Fringe next Thursday. They are Nicky Wilkinson, Tom Taylor, Laura Mclenaghan, Alasdair Beckett King, Russ Peers, Jenny Collier, Edward Hedges, Andrew McBurney and Demi Lardner.
JOHN OLIVER’s eight-week stint hosting The Daily Show while Jon Stewart took a summer hiatus to direct a movie ended last night. And ratings show that he was as popular as the full-time host, with the satirical holding its audience in Comedy Central’s crucial young male demographic.
