A NEW walking tour of Norwich follows in Alan Partridge’s footsteps. The 90-minute Alpha Norwich route includes locations used in Steve Coogan’s new Alpha Papa movie. VisitEngland's Chief Executive, James Berresford said: ‘I have no doubt that he will help drive visitors to the city - our research shows that 40 per cent of tourists want to visit locations that they see in films - and Partridge will become to Norwich what Harry Potter is to Alnwick Castle and Lady Mary is to Highclere Castle, albeit in slacks and driving gloves.’
DAVE CHAPPELLE has broken box-office records at Montreal’s Just For Laughs comedy festival, having sold out a ten-show run. More than 250 countries from nine countries performed over the whole event, and festival organisers were keen to point out that a record six of their ten big-ticket galas were hosted by women, including Sarah Silverman, Joan Rivers and Kathy Griffin.
SCOTT CAPURRO has pulled out of the Edinburgh Fringe after contracting pneumonia. Doctors have told him to rest for three weeks, forcing him to cancel his run of Islamohomophobia at the Assembly Rooms.
JIMMY TARBUCK has been rebailed over allegations of child sex abuse. The 73-year-old had been questioned about an alleged assault on a young boy in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, in the Seventies. Inquiries continue.
