Steve Coogan signs book deal
Steve Coogan has signed a book deal to publish his autobiography next year.
Publisher Ben Dunn, from Century, declared the as-yet untitled book ‘the title I've always wanted to work on’.
Coogan, and his writers, have already released a hugely successful memoir in the guise of Alan Partridge.
The comic said his new book ‘promises to be a sojourn through the faltering first steps of a lower middle class boy who watched television to the dizzy heights of a man who achieved not only a multi Bafta winning status on television but also became fully middle class and managed to annoy the Daily Mail at the same time.’
Coogan is a leading member of the Hacked Off group campaigning for clampdowns on press behaviour.
The book will be released in September 2014 following the deal Century struck with Coogan’s agents at Independent Talent.
His Alan Partridge film Alpha Papa will be released on August 7.
