Be in the IT Crowd
Fans of the IT Crowd are being given the chance to appear in the final episode – albeit briefly.
The sitcom’s creator, Graham Linehan, as put out an appeal for very short clips or stills of people reacting to an outrageous video on their phone or laptop.
And he says there is even more chance of the footage or photograph has an internationally famous landmark in the background.
Writing on his blog, Linehan said: ‘Visiting the Eifel Tower/North Pole/Great Wall of China? Take a snap of yourself pretending to look at something really gross on your device with the landmark in the background and BOOM! you’re in (with a very good chance of being in) the show.
He then clarified: ‘Remember, the video is outrageous. Not gross, really, but shocking’ – and added a chunk of legalese for anyone submitting material.
The main rules are that everyone in the clip must have given permission to be included, no under 18s can feature, and it can’t include any logos, brands, posters or artwork – and that includes the maker of the phone or computer. And there’s no payment for the material.
The IT Crowd is bowing out this year with a special episode for Channel 4.
