Drunk History makes it to TV
Hit internet series Drunk History has been picked up by Comedy Central in the States.
The broadcaster has ordered eight episodes to air in the summer following a successful pilot last year.
Originally made for Will Ferrell’s Funny Or Die website, the series features stars playing inebriated narrators of historic events.
Co-producer Adam McKay said: ‘Will and I have always believed booze brings out truth. Sometimes that truth involves hitting on airport bar janitors or eating cheese fries at 4am. But in this case, we hope that truth will shine on our nation’s history.’
The original web series, which was created by Derek Waters, has featured the likes of Jim Carrey, Jack Black, and Zooey Deschanel. Here is one episode:
Comedy Central has also ordered two more 13-episode series of its workplace sitcom Workaholics, brining the total to five. Created by sketch performers Blake Anderson, Adam Devine, Anders Holm and Kyle Newacheck, it is made by the US arm of Britain’s Avalon TV.
