Mrs Brown's game show

Saturday night slot for Brendon O'Carroll

Mrs Brown’s Boys star Brendan O’Carroll is to front a BBC One Saturday night gameshow, in character.

The ‘comedy quiz’ Mrs Brown’s Celebrities will involve two contestants being helped by five celebrities, whose knowledge could help them win.

A 40-minute pilot is being made – but not for broadcast – to test ideas for a full series earmarked for 2013.

BBC entertainment commissioning executive editor Alan Tyler said: ‘Mrs Brown is one of the crown jewels of BBC comedy. We are delighted that she is welcoming some famous faces into the family, and we are equally thrilled that she is continuing to make herself at home on BBC One.

The second series of Mrs Brown’s Boys averaged a mighty seven million viewers in consolidated ratings.
