...and still some are too close to call

The 10,000th comedy fan has just cast their vote in this year’s Chortle Awards – yet the polls are remarkably close.

In the tightest category there are just 13 votes between the two front-runners, with another 23 hours to go before voting closes.

Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Adam Riches has three nominations – for breakthrough act, sketch or character act and best show – while Dylan Moran, Stewart Lee, Sam Simmons and Humphrey Ker have two nods apiece.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on March 20, hosted by Alexei Sayle and sponsored by Universal DVD.
