Filming starts next week

Keith Lemon is to star in his own movie.

Filming is due to start in Belfast next week, on a script that sees the character follow his dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur, like his hero Richard Branson.

His creator Leigh Francis has written the script with Paul Angunawela, the director.

‘Mini Me’ actor Verne Troyer will star alongside the Celebrity Juice host.

Keith Lemon: The Movie is the first comedy from Lionsgate UK, whose previous credits include The Expendables and Saw 3D – although their home entertainment arm produced the spoof Keith Lemon's Fit, which sold 100,000 copies last Christmas.

Executive producer Zygi Kamasa said: ‘Given his [Lemon’s] universal appeal and electric popularity with the ladies, making this film will prove to be an absolute rollercoaster of a ride for us, exposing Keith’s natural talent – something he is very used to doing both on and off screen.’

In character, Lemon, saod; ‘It's a privilege to have the power of sight, hearing, touching and feeling. But to make a film which I am going to be able to see myself in, hear myself in, but unfortunately not touch or feel myself in (because it's not in 3D) is even more'rer'rer of privilege.’
