New drama for American TV

Eddie Izzard is working on a new political drama series for American TV.

The FX network – which aired his previous series The Riches – has the untitled series in development, Deadline.com reports.

Izzard would play a congressman who loses his seat after a sex scandal and then becomes a vicious and amoral political fixer.

He co-created the series with writer Doug Jung and is said to have been working on the idea for a couple of years.

Izzard has just finished filming the miniseries Treasure Island, in which he plays Long John Silver. It is expected to air on Sky at Christmas.
