Gallagher out of hospital

US comic treated for minor heart attack

American comedian Gallagher has been released from hospital, after being treated for a minor heart attack

The 64-year-old collapsed on stage on Thursday night, just as he performed his signature routine of smashing a watermelon with a sledgehammer.

His manager, Craig Marquado says Gallagher was released Sunday morning and was heading home to Los Angeles to see his own doctors. He said the comedian would be back on the road as soon as he was well enough.

Gallagher – who suffered a previous heart attack a decade ago – was performing at Whiskey Bone's Roadhouse in Rochester, Minnesota, when the collapsed.
