Radio stars perform stand-up

Polls have opened on which BBC radio presenter makes the best stand-up comic.

Hosts from all the national networks – including Jenni Murray, Tony Blackburn and Radio One's Dev – took part in a gig at London's Comedy Store after being mentored by top circuit comedians.

Now listeners are being asked to vote for their favourite three-minute routine, to raise money for Comic Relief.

Before the event, Blackburn admitted he was nervous, saying: 'I'm a great admirer of stand-up comics but I've never wanted to be one. I have a reputation for corny gags but on radio it takes ten seconds then I put a record on - I don't have to rely on getting a reaction. I'm petrified!'

Phone close at 7pm on March 16. They cost £1.02 from a BT landline, of which 76p goes to Comic Relief.

Here are the performances, and the numbers you need to ring to vote. The winner will be announced on March 18.
