Photographer case dropped

Charges have been dropped against Russell Brand following his clash with a paparazzo at Los Angeles airport.

The comic had been arrested and charged with battery over the run-in with the photographer in September, when he arrived for a flight with his then-fiancee Katy Perry.

This week he was reprimanded by a judge, but told that charges would not be pressed.

A Los Angeles City Attorney spokesman said: ‘Mr Brand and his lawyer attended a hearing on Wednesday. Following that meeting, we do not anticipate any further action will be necessary regarding this matter.’

It is believed the photographer involved has also been ticked off by a judge.

Brand had claimed he acted because the snapper was trying to take a photograph up Perry’s skirt.
