Cameraman drops Bruno lawsuit

Case becomes too stressful

The cameraman who was suing Sacha Baron Cohen over an alleged attack at a gay rights rally has dropped his case,

Photographer Mike Skiff said the lawsuit had taken too much of an emotional toll to continue.

He last month filed papers seeking $25,000 in punitive damages in his lawsuit for assault, battery and inciting a riot following a kerfuffle at the 2008 event, where Baron Cohen filmed scenes for the Bruno move.

Skiff claims that he was ‘shoved, pulled and wrestled in a vicious and blatant attempt’ to keep him from filming the event. He said he was also afraid he would be ‘clubbed with wooden signs’

At the rally in Los Angeles, ‘Bruno’ joined a counter-demonstration against homosexual marriages – but a scuffle broke out once Baron Cohen by someone in the crowd.

Skiff has now filed a request for an official dismissal with the Los Angeles County Superior Court. His lawyer told TMZ.com the matter ‘had become too difficult [for Skiff] to deal with’.
