Goodies song re-released

The Goodies' have re-released The Funky Gibbon to raise cash to help protect the primate.

Bill Oddie, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Graeme Garden – who are today celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first Goodies show – originally scored a top 10 hit with the novelty song in 1975.

Now the track has been given a remix for the International Primate Protection League's (IPPL) Save the Gibbon campaign.

Oddie said: ‘The Goodies are extinct, don't let the gibbons go the same way.’

It is available from iTunes for 79p here.

Oddie recently raised £1,360 on Cash in the Celebrity Attic for the Save the Gibbon appeal, which is trying to protect 16 species of gibbon.
