Simon lined up for M:I4

Simon Pegg is poised to appear alongside Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible 4.

The Shaun Of The Dead star is in talks to return as geeky scientist Benji Dunn, who he previously played in the second instalment of the thriller franchise.

Pegg has been reading the role in run-throughts, The Hollywood Reporter claims.

The film will be directed by hit animator Brad Bird, who made The Incredibles. Producer JJ Abrams - who directed the last Mission Impossible movie – previously worked with Pegg on the last Star Trek movie.

Filming on Mission: Impossible 4 is expected to start in early September.
