Sitcoms' creators collaborate

Peep Show and Two Pints Of Lager might be seen as two extremes of the sitcom spectrum – but now the creators of both are collaborating for a new Channel 4 comedy.

Work on the planned new sitcom is in its early stages, but makers Objective Productions say it will be a female-led script.

Two Pints writer Susan Nickson is collaborating with Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong on the show – and they have been given carte blanche to develop whatever script they wish.

Objective head of comedy Ben Farrell told trade magazine Broadcast: ‘It is early days but it will be a female, character-led sitcom.

‘They are still talking about what ages the characters should be, where they should live, what they do for a living - but it won’t be a female Peep Show. It might be the next Only Fools And Horses, or it might not work.’
