ITV to air FHM stand-up final

Fronted by Ed Byrne

The final of the FHM stand-up competition, which took place in London last night, is to be broadcast on ITV4 next year.

Ed Byrne, who headlined the gig at Jongleurs in Camden, will front the broadcast.

Other established comedians will also feature in the programme, which is a tie-up between FHM publisher Bauer, ITV and  Steve Coogan's production company Baby Cow and is due to air in January.

Marlon Davis, a 26-year-old from Stonebridge Park in North West London, took the title and its £5,000 prize. He has been performing comedy for four years while holding down an office job at an employee benefits firm.

He said: ‘I always found myself funny as a child. All the other kids were listening to pop music and I was listening to Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams and Bill Crosby. It's what it was born to do.’

‘It's only just sunk it that I've won. My mum and girlfriend are already after my winnings!’

Kevin Shelvin, 21 from Salford, took second place and third place went to 22-year-old Londoner Olawale Gbaja-Biamila.
