BBC takes another Walk On The Wild Side

Second series commissioned

BBC One has commissioned a second series of its wildlife comedy series Walk On The Wild Side.

Another seven episodes have been ordered, to be made in-house at the BBC to go out next summer.

The first series, which adds a comic commentary to classic BBC One natural history clips, originally aired this summer and is currently being repeated on BBC Three.

Stand-up Jason Manford and Phoenix Nights star Steve Edge wrote the show, with others, and provided voiceovers for many of the scenes.

Other comics including Isy Suttie, Jon Richardson, Rhod Gilbert, Sarah Millican and Gavin Webster also provided voices in the first series, alongside guest stars such as Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, Barbara Windsor and Stephen Fry.

Executive producer Caroline Wright, said: ‘Walk On The Wild Side is a potent mix of amazing wildlife photography, a fantastically-talented group of comedy writers and performers and an amazing furry cast. Who could ask for more?’
