Bruno director takes on sci-fi

Borat and Bruno director Larry Charles is returning to his sitcom roots with a new sci-fi comedy.

Charles, who also regularly directs Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm, is developing a new series for America’s NBC network about a group of small-town sci-fi nerds who shoot their own version of a cancelled TV show,

Charles – who has also previously worked on Seinfeld and Mad About You – is writing, directing and executive producing a ‘prototype’ pilot episode, trade journal Variety reports.
