30 Rock cleans up at the Emmys
30 Rock has again dominated the comedy categories at the Emmy awards.
The show, set behind the scenes of a weekly topical comedy, won best comedy, best comedy actor for star Alec Baldwin and best comedy writing – all of which it won last year, too.
Only star and creator Tina Fey failed to secure a second win in the outstanding lead actress category, which instead went to Toni Collette for United States Of Tara.
30 Rock – which was shortlisted for best comedy alongside Entourage, Family Guy, Flight of the Conchords, How I Met Your Mother and The Office – also picked up two awards at last week’s technical Emmys.
Collecting the best comedy award, Fey said: ‘That was a real nail biter. I want to thank the family and loved ones of all the people who work on the show for almost four years now.’
In reference to the stage invasion at last week's MTV Video Music Awards, host Neil Patrick Harris, star of How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris, joked: ‘Here's hoping Kanye West likes 30 Rock.’
In other categories, Jon Cryer won best supporting actor in a comedy for Two And A Half Men, and Kristin Chenoweth won best supporting actress for Pushing Daisies; while Jeff Blitz won best director for the US version of The Office.
